Textiles Industry in India

Today, textiles are the largest industry of modern India. Textiles, alone, account for about 25 percent of India’s total earnings. In a fast changing global scenario, the Indian textile industry is poised to grow at 15%-20% CAGR for FY 05-08E. As textile exports to foreign lands grew, so did the changes in designs and patterns that responded to the needs of distant markets. Going from strength to strength, Pasupati Spinning & Weavings Mills Ltd forges ahead, doing its part in putting India in the global arena. This is reflected in our sales turnover figures.

With a compound growth of 500% – sewing threads sales turnover has increased from US$ 4 million to US$ 20 million in the last five years. Our export turnover for sewing threads has increased to US$ 10 million for the fiscal year 2005.

We have spread our operations, thread by thread into the discerning markets of the world: South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Israel, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey, Croatia, Germany, Portugal, Dominican Republic and Brazil are the countries we have left our prints on.

Today, we are the largest exporter of sewing thread to Turkey-the country who is among the largest consumer of sewing threads in the world.
